MEET THE ARTIST
Sophia Lauren Franco is a Mexican-American illustrator and designer from Detroit. Her work blends airbrush-like portraiture with bold, expressive color, often exploring themes of softness, identity, and atmosphere. Alongside her editorial illustration practice, she is expanding into art direction and graphic design, applying her visual storytelling skills to book covers, posters, branded campaigns and more.
She has created illustrations for clients such as Freya Films, Sports Illustrated Kids, Entertainment Weekly, and L.A. Times: The Envelope, and her work has appeared in gallery exhibitions and editorial features. In 2024, she was recognized as a Selected Winner in American Illustration 43.
