Meet the Artist!
Sophia Lauren Franco is a Mexican-American illustrator from Detroit, MI. Sophia's artistic journey harmoniously weaves her passion for people and visual storytelling. Her specialty lies with portraiture, drawing inspiration from the bold color palettes of the '80s and the simplistic compositions seen in vintage magazine covers. She primarily focuses her subjects on popular culture, including film, television, music, and more. While her forte lies in poster and editorial illustration, she aims to be a versatile artist who can adapt her style to various forms of media. Her portfolio includes clients like Freya Films, Sports Illustrated Kids, Entertainment Weekly, and Loco Boys Brewery.
Although illustration is her primary form of artistic expression, she is extremely enthusiastic about generating change and bringing artists together in a supportive community. In the summer of 2022, Sophia teamed up with a creative colleague to establish the non-profit, Art-ology, where she sits as Co-Director. More info here.
